Finding occupational therapy in Wollongong and the Illawarra has become harder over the past year. In July 2025, the Illawarra Mercury reported local occupational therapists describing NDIS work as close to unsustainable after years of frozen price limits and reduced travel subsidies, with at least one established Illawarra practice announcing it would transition its NDIS participants elsewhere.
